
Sunny Beach
Sunny Beach is the largest and most popular tourist resort on the southern part of the Black Sea coast, 30km from Bourgas airport.
The beautiful sandy beach stretches for 8km and has been awarded the Blue Flag. The summer's get very hot and are similar to Southern Spain.
Sunny Beach has a wide range of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos. Some of which offer entertainment or live music to suit all ages and tastes. There is an open-air theatre, outdoor cinema, an exclusive shopping centre and plenty of markets. The lively resort offers an abundance of water sports and leisure activities to choose from such as surfing, water skiing, parachute sailing, hang-gliding, banana boats, sailing, peddlo's, tennis, beach volleyball and mini-golf. The prices are also cheap compared to the U.K. There are also several Aqua Parks with slides and childrens pools for lots of fun and games. There are numerous boat trips and excursions available and the beautiful historic old town of Nessebar is only 10 minutes by bus/car.
Sunny Beach is a good base to get to and from nearby areas. There are regular buses, plenty of taxi's and lots of car hire companies.
Nessebar
Nessebar is a truly beautiful historic old town located on a small rocky peninsula in the Black Sea. There are two parts to Nessebar the old and the new town. The old town, which is on the peninsula, is renowned for its narrow cobblestone streets, old monuments and ancient buildings dating back to the 10th century. Here you will find lots of restaurants serving traditional bulgarian food and very popular are the fish and seafood restaurants. Also of interest are the arts and crafts shops where many local artists exhibit and sell their work. The new town situated further inland also offers a wide variety of shops, fashionable cafes/ restaurants, good nightlife and there is a waterpark nearby.
Nessebar is easily accessible from Sunny Beach, Bourgas and St Vlas by bus, car or boat. The local buses run every 10 minutes from Sunny Beach to Nessebar and there are regular boat trips from Sunny Beach.
St Vlas
Situated 5km north of Sunny Beach St Vlas is a lovely coastal resort famous for its brand new and beautiful Marina. Situated at the foot of the Balkan mountain range St Vlas also offers spectacular views of the mountain and sea and has three beaches which are very popular with families with kids or people who prefer a quieter resort. It's also an ideal place for yacht lovers or those who wish to hire a boat.
St Vlas has a variety of shops and exclusive restaurants and there is regular bus transport to St Vlas from Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Bourgas.
Bourgas
Bourgas is the second-largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. One of the most popular tourist attractions here are the Bourgas lakes of which are three - Bourgas Lake, Mandren lake and Atanassovo Lake. Bourgas Lake is the largest natural lake in Bulgaria with an abundance of natural wildlife including 254 bird species. The Mandren Lake is located 10 km south of the city and is an ornithological reserve with a large bird population. Atanassovo Lake, situated between the airport and the city, also has many sea birds and has sites where you can do fishing and swimming.
There are plenty of places of interest and things to do in Bourgas. There are Museums, theatres, galleries, shops, a beach, restaurants and bars offering entertainment or live music. The Sea Garden Park is another great place which has a casino, a small zoo and an open-air theatre that holds various music and dance festivals throughout the year.
Aswell as having an airport Bourgas offers good transport links to all main destinations around the country, via bus or train.
